Raising money for charity

Each year our customers help us raise money for charity.

For 2018 our chosen charity is Headway, the brain injury charity.

Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were.

Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through its network of more than 125 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields.

In 2017 we collected £3761 for our chosen charity The Blood Bikers. The charity provides an Emergency Voluntary Service to transport blood, x-rays and other vital equipment between hospitals with the sole aim of saving lives. It costs a minimum of £35000 a year to maintain The Blood Bikers service in each area, which could not continue without the generous support from public and business alike.

In 2016 we collected £4469.50 for the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
The Charity receives no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely entirely on the generosity of the public for support.
Since the launch in March 2000 they have attended thousands of incidents. They are tasked by the Ambulance Service through the normal ‘999’ emergency process and can attend up to eight or nine incidents in a single day during the summer months.

In 2015 our chosen charity was the RNLI, the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service on many of our beaches. We are really pleased to tell you that together we raised £4240 which was given to the Lyme Regis Lifeboat station.
